CORE
STABILIZATION: Core
stability exercises should be part of every
conditioning program, along with flexibility,
strength, and aerobic training.
Core stabilization strengthens the muscles
of the trunk, keeping your spine and body
stable. This helps you stay balanced when
you move. If your core muscles are strong
and they contract when they should:
· Your posture is better.
· Your body is balanced.
· Your movement is more efficient and
powerful.
· You are less likely to be injured.

FLEXIBILITY
AND STRETCHING:
Stretching is important
for people of all ages. One of the greatest
benefits of stretching is that you’re
able to increase the length of both your
muscles and tendons. This leads to an increased
range of movement, which means your limbs
and joints can move further before an injury
occurs. Stretching can help to prevent an
injury by promoting recovery and decreasing
soreness and ensures that your muscles and
tendons are in good working order. The more
conditioned your muscles and tendons are,
the better they can handle the rigors of
sports and exercise, and the less likely
that they’ll become injured.
A consistent stretching program
will result in:
· Reduced muscle tension
· Injury prevention
· Increased range of movement in
the joints
· Enchanced muscular coordination
· Increased circulation of the blood
to various part of the body
· Increased energy levels (resulting
from increased circulation) |

WEIGHT
TRAINING:
Strength training through
weight bearing modalities not only develops
muscular strength and muscular endurance,
it can also improve performance in other
activities, change how you look, and help
your muscles recover from the daily physical
stresses of life.
Weight training increases
and preserves muscle, which minimizes many
of the negative changes associated with
aging. The key to avoiding muscle loss is
to strength train. Because it can increase
your metabolism, strength training may be
the most important exercise you can do for
losing fat and maintaining your weight.
Increase muscle by strength training and
you'll
burn more calories naturally--24 hours a
day--even at rest! |
